Is it dumb to trade in a 2006 car for another 2006 vehicle?
January 1st, 2010 | by admin |My wife and I are looking to get a bigger SUV with our growing family and needing more space when traveling. Is it stupid to trade for a car of the same year, or worth it if the "new" vehicle meets our needs?
You are acting smart. The minute you take a "new" vehicle out of the dealer, it depreciates by thousands of dollars as you must know.

Did you buy the 2006 new? Do you still have a warranty? If yes to both, it would be stupid.
You have already taken a huge hit in depreciation if so. Also, warranties are priceless with cars. You won’t get one on a used car unless you find a an extremely desperate dealer or are willing to fork out a few thousand extra dollars for one.

Its better to buy used needs than new needs with a car.
Does the Used car meet the needs as same as the New car? If it does, the used car will save that payment.

Trading it in for the same car would be stupid but if you’re buying a bigger vehicle and can get a good deal, then why not? Typically, you’ll get more money for the car if you sell it yourself but that could take some time. Dealer will give you the minimum price for your car but will want the top dollar for his. So, it’s all about how much you need more space. Car is not an investment so do the math before you trade.

You need be careful when going to trade your car to a dealer. If you are not certain of the value then you can get really ripped off.
Dont be suprised if a dealer makes a terrible offer. It’s really easy to get a estimate online to check how much your ride is going to fetch. I have recommended http://tradein.123thebest.info – Good luck.
