Will the new car tax rates (UK) apply to vehicles manufactured befoe 2001 but first registered here after that
November 30th, 2009 | by admin |e.g., a Japanese import manufactured in 1999, but imported into the UK in 2006. Would that be counted as a pre-2001 vehicle for tax purposes? Or do they count registration as first registration of that individual vehicle in the UK?
I’m not 100% sure what on earth the Government is playing at but according to a chart I’ve found, my old tax was based on engine size and only £120 – the new banding means emissions and it’ll leap to £205 then £300!!
I’m including the link the the website that you put your car details in.

Methinks unless you are riding a bike or a skateboard like 75% of drivers you will be paying more road tax. So the relentless persicution of the motorist continues.
