e.g., a Japanese import manufactured in 1999, but imported into the UK in 2006. Would that be counted as a pre-2001 vehicle for tax purposes? Or do they count registration as first registration of that individual vehicle in the UK?
I'm not 100% sure what on earth the Government is playing ...

I have been looking at used vehicles for right at $10000. Is there a list anywhere that shows new vehicle prices that are around this price? My dad thinks he saw a commercial for a new car at $5000 after incentives. THANKS!
