Which do you think is better the army or the marines?

I personally think the marines are the best, they have special weapons some even better than the army….. But the arm has tanks,vehicles,etc… Also I’m almost done with high school and I want to know which is better. So give your opinion and We’ll see.

you ever notice that only the people that ask or answer these kind of questions are dumbass civilians that aren’t in either branch? The Answer is:they are both better than you.

Also: marines do not have better weapons than army, army has much more funding, so do your homework before you make dumb claims about something your clueless about. and the marines also have armored tanks. dude do some research before you ask questions like this with dumb facts that aren’t true

    Marines, they are a much tougher "boot camp", it’s 3 months long of intense IN YOUR FACE training. The Marines are a much smaller department than the Army but the Army is good as well though their "basic training" is not as rigorous as the Marines.

    It all depends on the mission… if you want the enemy dead call the Marines.

    Marines.
    I’m in JROTC and some of the cadets in LET 4 are in DEP for the Marines.

    The reason the Marines are "the best" is because they have far fewer slots to fill, so the standard can be much higher. It has nothing to do with the Service itself, just with the numbers they have to work with.

    They’re approximately equal in types of missions they can do, and that’s the only important part.

    marines? r u joking? they truly are the best of the best man but sadly they job it to be nothing more that cannon meat for the army. The go they clear then the army can go in and do their job. As to weapons. M4 is all ur gonna get. so stop dreaming.

    Who is better the Steelers or the Packers?

    Both are good at what they do but each has a different method of getting the job done just like the Army and Marines.

    That is why we have Army and Marine branches in the military. They both have different specialties thus why we have the two groups.

    You’ll never get a decent answer on this. This is a long time feud. Whichever one you enlist in you’ll here them both shitting on one another. The Marine Corp shits on the Army, the Army shits on the Marine Corp. Special Weapons? Weapons are developed by the DoD not your branch. Just depends on who they want to use as guinea pigs for that specific development.

    I’ll tell you this. Where I am from (MA), most Marine recruiters won’t give you a second look if you’ve ever been arrested in your time. The Army, one thing that is shitty about them now is they let anyone in. most of those people do get weeded out though during BCT.

    Enjoy it if you enlist. My opinion? I don’t give a shit what branch you’re in. We’re all over there fighting for the same reason, for the same commander in chief, and covering each others back.

    First off Its not which is better. They both have a diffrent rule to play in war. Marines have more physical and longer training. Marines- 13 weeks Army 9 weeks. Marines are the first ones in to capture the area Army Holds the area. Army is better equiped. Marines get all there equipment last because the Navy pays for the usmc and they spend on the ships first.

    Army well depending on what you are looking for. The army is a larger branch so its easier to get promoted and there are more jobs. the end of the army’s fiscal year is october so you have more job choices here in october and the army has more job choices for your enlistment. i personally joined the army and leave in a month there was a lot of talk between this and the air force and decided army active duty. the $10,000 signing bonus is going to be a nice perk too.

    Probaly the army. in the movies were there is like all these disaters(the dark knight, 28 weeks later, quaritine,etc) the army is always there to kick ass. The marines r no where in sight. However, the marines do have the best lookin men :)

    Good choice. I enlisted on may 13 and seeing all of the benefits is amazing. They don’t promise you 10,000 dollars just for signing up, or a chance to not even be near the battle field.
    What they do give you is a chance to be one of the best. I’m sure you see army guys walking down the street in their uniforms, looking like they are ready to fight, but you never see a Marines in a combat uniform on the street because our country does not have any battles going on actually within country lines.
    Also look at the facts. The Marines are the only branch that does presidential security and embassy duty. What does that say?
    Another thing, your main weapon will be the M-16a2, not an m4. We also have tanks, jets, and if I remember correctly at least one ship.
    So if you want to join a branch with higher standards, join The Marines

    well you have to break it down what do the marines have that the army doesn’t….the marines want quality over quantity, and when i say quality i mean that there is bar that every marine has to at…every marine is a Rifleman…so a cook for the marines could prob shoot better than a lot of people in the army. not only that if the army was so bad *** then why do they have to go through marine boot camp even though they went to the army boot camp huh…don’t get me wrong the army like any other branch of the military has some bad *** people like rangers and so on…everyone compares the elite forces in all the other branches to the basic marine and that is a reputation that wasn’t given it was earned…..but like they say the marines are the tip of the spear…the army can mop up after us….
