Unmarked military vehicles being transported on the interstate?

November 23rd, 2009 | by admin |

Just wondering if anyone knew what they were used for? I have even seen tanks. They are a light brown usually with absolutely no marking of any branch of military.

They are usually newly rebuilt vehicles. They have been sent to a rebuild center where they have been stripped right down to the chassis, given rebuilt engines and other components, and a nice new coat of paint. When military vehicles come from a rebuild center, they are painted in either 3 color camouflage, or sand color.

From there, they usually go to another depot until they are assigned to a using unit.Since they don’t know which unit will be getting them, they are unmarked until they get to the unit that will be using them.

Some of the older vehicles that are rebuilt are for foreign sales, since they are still usable but obsolete in the US.

NORMALY Thier not just openly marked like saying in a war zone "HEY WERE UNITED STATES MARINES COME AND GET US" although that would be fun…
