What is the "Power Train" on a vehicle? on new vehicles there is a 100k miles warranty on the "power train"?
March 25th, 2010 | by admin |Is the engine considered part of the "power train"? What specific part or portion of the vehicle is considered the power train. I have a 2005 Dodge Caravan and the seal pops off and leaks oil when it changes gears (auto trans). Dodge has a "bulletin" about this part, they recommend that if this seal pops off after a repair to it has been made, then the only recourse you have is to replace the engine. I’m screwed, because this should be escalated from a "bulletin" to a recall!
the power train is the engine and transmission. the power train warranty does not cover many parts. most warranty’s don’t cover seals and gaskets. just engine block and transmission cases. it does not cover things that go bad. that’s why they give such a good warranty on these parts.

i think you need to take it down to your dodge dealer to have it looked at. I would consider it a power train Component

The simplest answer! It’s what makes the vehicle go! It’s the power from the engine-to-ground (not including wheels and tires)! If your car is under warranty they need to replace the parts, whatever they might be!

Easiest way is to just call the dealer and ask them if your problem is covered under warranty.
Even a "Bulletin" may state the repair is covered for your car, even if it’s not a Recall.
Recall means they want all cars to come in and get fixed, even if you don’t experience any problems at the moment
