How to disable Nissan’s Maxima 2000 Vehicle Immobilizer System?
February 12th, 2010 | by admin |My Nissan’s steering wheel is locked due to the Vehicle Immobilizer System and I can’t turn ON my ignition with the original car key… I tried many different things like locking and unlocking car doors with the key from the outside, leaving the key in the ignition for 10-15 minutes – it worked before, but now nothing of that helps.
Try buying a new key at a key shop. Sounds like the resistor in your key that controls the Immobilizer System has gone bad. The resistor value in the key has to match the resistor value stored in the cars computer before you will be able to start the car.
