Which is a better midsize suv, a 2008 jeep patriot or a 2008 kia sportage?

I am just getting my license and am trying to get a small four wheel drive suv. Which of these two vehicles is the best quality for the price?

Speaking strictly of quality, I would go with the Kia Sportage. The quality of the Korean cars has been rising to nearly Japanese levels, while the quality of Jeeps and other Chrysler vehicles has been trending downward.
